Boy...I'm all set for trick 'n treating and with Magic Day here too, everything is gearing for some 'spook-ta-cular' fun! Pointed hats and boiling cauldrons is the order of the day and Abra-ca-dabra...Gilli-giili-go is going to be my mantra...so beware I might just turn U into a rabbit!
Magic and magicians are cool...See what I found about them :
- For thousands of years it was believed that magicians or sorcerers were able, by use of supernatural powers, to gain control over natural forces. ( Nice way to get back to your enemies!!)
- Magic has been around for long, there are records of it being found in ancient Egypt.
- Magic is sometimes a family affair! There have been a number of magic dynasties, consisting of several members of the same family, through birth or marriage, who have gained fame and success in the world of magic.
- Famous magical words uttered...Abracadabra Cadabra Cadeen, Uju Buju Suck Another Juju (this apparently means english hard candy!), Sim Sala Bim.
- Do you know the most dangerous trick in magic? No, it isn't the Water Torture Cell or the Buried Alive illusion, or even the Straitjacket Escape. It's Bullet Catch and has claimed the lives of at least 15 magicians who were killed in connection with this potentially lethal trick. Here, a bullet is fired directly at the performer, and he or she catches the bullet in the teeth, hopefully without any ill effects. The most famous bullet-catching death was that of Chung Ling Soo (William Robinson), shot on stage in 1918. Rumors persisted that his death was not an accident caused by equipment malfunction, but was a murder motivated by jealousy.
